Literacy and Technology Camps

UNCC Writing Project has been offering quality professional development for teachers and literacy camps for students for 30 years. In the past our camps have been on our campus. We are now bringing these rich student experiences to our partner schools. UNCCWP will work with your school to design a camp experience that best fits the students and families at the school.

UNCCWP camps offer students the chance to:

Join and form a community of writersand researchers of writing
Compose in real world formats, for real world audiences and purposes

UNCCWP camps include:

Digital and print literacy (reading and writing)
Real world inquiry and project based learning
Publishing opportunities

UNCCWP Camps are for students who:

Identify themselves as writers, readers and techies
Are discovering themselves as writers, readers and techies

UNCCWP Camp facilitators are:

Highly qualified classroom teachers
Graduates of the UNCCWP Summer Institute (6 week graduate seminar on writing and the teaching of writing)
Active classroom researchers
Writers!

UNCCWP Camps can run concurrently with Professional Development Partnership Institutes and serve as Professional Development Model Classrooms
